How to Measure Your Bra Size (British Method)
- Measure your underbust: Wear a non-padded bra. Wrap a soft measuring tape snugly around your ribcage, just under your bust, while exhaling for the tightest measurement.
- Measure your bust: Wrap the tape loosely around the fullest part of your bust, ensuring itβs level and not compressing the breasts.
- Enter measurements above and click “Calculate”.
Tip: Use a mirror or ask a friend to ensure the tape is level. Measuring in cm is preferred for British brands like Marks & Spencer or Bravissimo.

Tips for Accurate Measurements
- Use a soft, flexible measuring tape and check alignment in a mirror.
- Measure underbust while exhaling to ensure a snug fit, as British bands are firmer.
- Keep the tape slightly loose for bust to avoid compression.
- Measure twice, ideally in a non-padded bra, to confirm accuracy.
Common British Bra Fit Issues
- Band too tight? Try a sister size with a larger band (e.g., 34C to 36B). British bands are often firmer.
- Cup gaps or spillage? Adjust cup size (e.g., 34C to 34D for spillage). Cup sizing may vary slightly by brand.
- Straps slipping? Tighten straps or try a balcony or racerback bra from brands like Panache.
- Underwire discomfort? Check band size or opt for a soft-cup bra for comfort.
